The RAC Future Car Challenge is FREE to view at the Start, along the 60 mile route to London, at the Crawley half-way stop at the finish in London and during the display in Regent Street.

The main advantage points will be at the start in Madeira Drive, Brighton at the half-way stop at Central Sussex College, Crawley and at the ceremonial finish in Regent Street, London.

THE START - The start in Madeira Drive, Brighton will see the vehicles on display in the paddock area prior to the formal start at 07:30hrs. The vehicles will depart independently in 30 second intervals, which subject to final entry numbers, will take around 50 to 60 minutes to complete. Participants will be required to stop at this location as a formal check-point for 15 minutes minimum and 30 minutes maximum.

THE HALF-WAY STOP – The very appropriate technical college of Crawley (Central Sussex College) is the half-way stop where participants can enjoy refreshments and the opportunity to check/service their vehicles as may be required. There are also plans for a number of displays by regional vehicle dealerships to add to the occasion.

THE FORMAL FINISH – Waterloo Place, Pall Mall and St James's Square, London is the formal finish where participating vehicles will be checked for their energy consumed during the Run from Brighton - Spectator viewing at this location is limited.

THE CEREMONIAL FINISH – Regent Street (Vigo Street to Conduit Street) will be closed to normal traffic for this special occasion and is the fitting final finish and presentation for these pioneering new-energy vehicles as they line-up and display alongside the traditional 100 car spectacle of Veteran motoring (pre 1905) representing the pioneering start of motoring as known today!

THE ROUTE – The route follows the exact same course as the following days London to Brighton Veteran Car Run but in reverse! Having left Brighton on the A23, the vehicles will take the A273 through Clayton Hill and Burgess Hill; the B2036 via Cuckfield; onto the B2114 and B2115 re-joining the A23 into Crawley. After the stop the route continues on the A23 via Gatwick and Redhill and onto the A235 into Croydon re-joining the A23 via Norbury and Lambeth to Westminster Bridge, Parliament Square, Trafalgar Square and into Pall Mall where the vehicles will be checked and then pre-assembled in St James's Square prior to their parade to Regent Street at approximately 12:15hrs.
