Event Timetable

The 2011 RAC Future Car Challenge will take place on Friday and Saturday 04/05 November. The event will feature a press call, informal dinner and breakfast assembly in Brighton before the Challenge journey to London via Crawley. The event will conclude with a formal Awards Dinner at The Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall. The two day programme will feature the following provisional timetable.
 
Friday 04 November
15:00 - 16:00 Press photo call at the START line on Madeira Drive, Brighton
 
16:00 - 20:00 Assembly of all participating vehicles at the Hilton Brighton Metropole hotel
 
16:00 - 22:00 Scrutineering, EV charging and final preparation of all participating vehicles at above hotel
 
19:45 - 22:30 Welcome dinner for all participants at above hotel (informal)
 
Hotel accommodation available at special rates, subject to availability (see Accommodation).
 
 
Saturday 05 November
05:00 - 06:15 Breakfast assembly
 
06:30 - 06:40 Event briefing from the Organisers during breakfast
 
06:00 - 07:00 Participating vehicles leave hotel for Madeira Drive START line
 
07:30 - 08:30 The Start - Vehicles depart one by one at 30 second intervals
 
08:00 - 09:30 Vehicles stop at Central Sussex College, Crawley - 15 minutes min/30 minutes max
 
08:30 - 10:00 Vehicles depart Central Sussex College
 
10:15 - 12:00 Vehicles arrive at the formal FINISH in Waterloo Place, Pall Mall London
 
10:30 - 12:00 Pre-assembly of vehicles in St. James's Square (off Pall Mall)
 
12:15 - 12:30 Vehicles parade under RAC escort to Regent Street via Piccadilly Circus
 
12:15 - 16:00 Vehicles on display in Regent Street, (Vigo Street to Conduit Street)
 
14:30 - 15:00 Presentation of Overall Winner and Public Choice Awards on Event Stage
 
16:00 - 16:15 Vehicles depart Regent Street
 
19:30 - 23:00 RAC Future Car Challenge Awards Dinner at The Royal Automobile Club, Pall Mall
